Carrie DeJesus

Carrie DeJesus started practicing yoga in 2010 with the hopes of creating a more balanced life. During that time, Carrie was starting a new career as a lawyer while fumbling her way through the early years of motherhood. Once she committed to weekly yoga classes, though, she began to notice a difference in the way she treated her clients, her family and herself. Yoga gave her a way to navigate her life by orienting all the moving parts around her practice and providing some much- needed stability.

Seeking to advance her own practice, Carrie completed her 200-hour Vinyasa Krama certification at YogaLove in Yardley, PA in 2012. Shortly before teacher training ended, she learned she was expecting her second daughter. She began teaching while pregnant and was inspired to earn her Prenatal Yoga certification through A New Light Yoga & Wellness in 2014. Carrie has continued her studies by taking trainings in meditation, the subtle body, hands-on- assists, anatomy & physiology, restorative yoga, yoga therapy, yoga philosophy and Ayurveda. She also studies yogic texts and regularly commits to sadhanas under the direction of her teachers.

Carrie considers herself a householder (a yoga practitioner grounded in the responsibilities of marriage, home and family) and weaves her practice around her roles of partner, provider and caretaker. As a teacher, Carrie seeks to hold space for students to dig deep into their own practices and discover ways yoga can serve them in their lives.
